Dear church family,
As we mentioned Sunday, March 1, we want to be aware but not panicked or fear-driven about viruses, sickness, and disease. The first line of defence is simply to increase your use of 'soap and water' hand washing. Do not fear people, nor gathering, but gather and keep distance wisely. Fear-mongering is common, but should not be the recourse of followers of Jesus. Let's be wise, and take precautions. We are people of Spirit, science, and most of all, the person of Jesus.
We will meet Sunday, March 15, but if you don’t feel well, or if you are in a high-risk demographic for complications from Coronavirus, please stay home this weekend.

Here are some encouragements based in part on various national church and Disease Control recommendations:
Fear and "being more conservative than God", creates other problems. Going beyond a normal level of preparedness, hoarding, runs on banks, general bad behaviour, etc., only gives a false sense of control/security. The public and face-to-face gathering of the church cannot be replaced by "dialling-it-in", it is something Christians have done, often under threat. However, sometimes we sacrifice this for health or in countries/places with regimes hostile to Christians. Community is formed in gathering and making real space for others in our schedules. We want to continue to be wise and take reasonable precautions to minimize the potential spreading of illnesses, but don’t want to be consumed by fear. We look forward to seeing those of you who choose to join us this weekend!
