Join us in welcoming our guest, Ryan Guerra to Pilgrim this Sunday. 
Bio: Ryan Guerra is a Christian communicator who is dedicated to re-igniting a passion for the Bible and its teachings in the heart of the modern church. Having grown up as the rebellious son of a pastor, Ryan's life profoundly changed when he met Jesus at 16 years old and began his life-long mission to bring hope to the world around him through the gospel message.
After spending nearly a decade touring the world in a rock band, telling hundreds of thousands of people about Jesus, Ryan eventually hung up his guitar to turn his focus toward the local church. He spent the next decade in pastoral ministry, offering sound biblical teaching and developing strategies to reach and disciple Canadians in an increasingly secularized climate.
Today Ryan lives in western Canada with his wife and two daughters and pours his time into teaching about the Bible and the way of Jesus wherever he can.

  1. Read Psalm 1. What pictures does this text conjure up for you? What grabs your attention? If you could ask the author one question about what they’ve written, what would it be?
  2. The actor of Psalm 1 urges us to avoid walking with the wicked, standing in the way of sinners, and sitting in the company of mockers. Are there aspects of your life where you allow yourself to drift into these spaces? What’s a small step you could take this week to step off of this path?
  3. When you think of the two paths illustrated in Psalm 1, which path more typifies your current journey?
  4. The psalmist invites readers to delight in and meditate on God’s law regularly. Is this a current practice in your life? If so, what does it look like and how has it shaped you? If not, what might it look like to take a step forward in this area?
  5. Where have you seen God bring prosperity and fruitfulness in your life? Where would you like to see more of this?

Pilgrim Church is located at the corner of East 45th and Inverness Street in south Vancouver, two blocks southwest of East 41st and Knight Street.
Our building is fully accessible from the parking lot. We have an elevator entrance from the parking/ground level that services the Upper and Lower floors and a fully accessible washroom on the upper/main level.
