Hello everyone! Kyle and I just returned from Tohoku. We have now completely finished our outreach season! Students have grown in so many ways! We have now less than a week before all of our students will return home. Please keep us in your prayers especially for the students as they seek out guidance from the LORD for their next steps in that they will find peace knowing that the LORD has something really good and amazing in store for them.
In Tohoku we visited, Miyagi, Akita and Iwate (different prefectures in Japan). 6 years ago this area was hit by a tsunami and a year ago in Iwate they had a big typhoon. There are still many people living in temporary housing and we were able to visit few of them. A woman opened up and shared with us how she lost her home and her husband by the typhoon. I was able to feel deep grief and sorrow in the area and it felt so overwhelming but I know God is for them and not against them. I believe He makes beauty out of desolate places, He will rebuild the whole area of Tohoku to be a place of hope and rest. I pray that God will send people who are in love with Jesus to just love and serve these community because in these communities, people need to know they are loved and valuable. We also visited Sendai which is the biggest city in the Tohoku region. One of our YWAM staff has a vision to pioneer a YWAM Base in Sendai so we prayed around Sendai station and also went around that area to see our potential location.
As we end this big season of our life as leaders of this DTS, FIRST we are going to take some break to rest so if you have any place you recommend let us know! Kyle and I are not the best at coming up with resting plans so any suggestions are welcomed Kyle and I will miss the students, God has been so good to us, giving us grace and mercy to walk through this season with amazing sons and daughters of God. This season brought us humility, challenge and growth. I would not choose anyone else to walk this journey with than Kyle. I am so grateful for all of your prayers. We could not have done it without you!!!
